Born in Bellingham, Tanner has been around baseball his entire life. A graduate of Ferndale High School, he played football and baseball for all four years, receiving All State Honors as a 3b and Pitcher and played for Bellingham Post 7 following his senior season where he won a state championship. He attended Skagit Valley Community College for two years as a Inf/P. After his freshman season he played for the Bellingham Bells for part of the summer and following his sophomore season received 1st Team All NWAAC including a Gold Glove as a pitcher and a Scholarship to the University of Central Florida.

At UCF Tanner completed his final two years of baseball where they received the highest ranking in school history at #6 in the country. Tanner graduated in winter of 2015 with a Bachelors Degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Minor in Coaching.

Tanner returned to Bellingham following graduation where he coaches Crush Baseball and is an assistant coach at Ferndale High School. When he’s not working or coaching you can find Tanner on the water fishing or kayaking.
